Busó

According to legends, during the Ottoman occupation of Mohács (Hungary) local refugees covered themselves in animal hides and donned scary masks to drive out the Ottoman troops from their homeland. They made plenty of noise as they boated across the river and made their way through the forest during a stormy night. The Turks thought they're being attacked by demons and left their posts before sunrise.
